Olive Young Global: What Changes Your Cost Before You Pay

A free-shipping threshold can be US$35 in one destination and US$60 in another. Your display currency may not be the currency charged. These differences matter more to the final bill than the price of one discounted product.

US delivery belongs to a different service

The Global homepage excludes the 50 US states and Washington, DC. Section 8 of the US Terms of Use also states that customers in the United States cannot purchase through Global for US delivery. Global shipping and return terms therefore should not be used to evaluate a US-service order.

The shipping threshold depends on the destination

The Global shipping table lists these examples:

Published destination-specific shipping conditions
DestinationFree-shipping thresholdDelivery estimate
United KingdomUS$604–5 days
Japan¥3,9006–7 days
TaiwanUS$355–6 days

A qualifying US$40 merchandise subtotal clears Taiwan's listed threshold but falls short of the UK's. This comparison covers shipping eligibility, not the final cost after other charges. Delivery can take longer than the listed estimates. The table does not specify whether processing time is included or whether the days are business days.

Display currency, payment currency and later charges

The Global currency notice says final payment is based on US dollars or Japanese yen, even though other display currencies are available. The amount charged can vary with the exchange rate. The billing page also warns that a refund can differ from the original payment when the card currency is not US dollars because exchange rates change.

Free shipping does not remove applicable customs-related charges. The shipping page places the UK in its collection-at-purchase category and Canada in its collection-on-delivery category, where local courier fees may apply. Whether a charge is due depends on the destination and the order; those categories are not a universal tax calculation. Official Taxes & Duties table.

Comparison total = final checkout total (including shipping and any taxes collected there) + taxes or import charges not collected at checkout + carrier or payment-conversion fees not already included.

If a later charge is unresolved, mark the comparison total as incomplete rather than assuming that charge is zero.

Defects, ordering mistakes and refunds follow different conditions

Global's Returns & Exchanges page allows a return/refund request for defective or incorrect products within 30 days of receipt. It asks for the order number and photos of the issue; an incorrect-item claim also requires a photo of the shipping label. Approved claims for those reasons have shipping costs and additional fees covered.

The same page excludes returns for a change of mind, customer ordering mistakes, used products and color or option changes. It says exchanges are unavailable. Its stated refund route is the original payment method, with an approximate processing time of 2–15 business days, rather than a guaranteed credit date.

Articles 21–22 of Global's terms separately describe cancellation rights, conditions and exclusions. If you may need a change-of-mind return, get confirmation for your case from Global customer service before ordering. Do not treat the help page alone as a complete account of your statutory rights or send a parcel back without instructions.
